Tend To Your Needs

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day that we forget to tend to our needs. Honestly, how many of us have put things on the back burner because we are prioritizing the needs of others. Especially things pertaining to our health. If it’s not an emergency we may have a habit of putting it on pause.

Even though putting ourselves first is not always easy to do, it’s worth it. You can’t show up your absolute best in life if you aren’t taking care of yourself and your needs. Sometimes the things we need to do for ourselves may feel inconvenient to our current situation, however they are necessary.

Where to start? With the things that you CAN control. Things come up and that’s alright, it wouldn’t be realistic to think they wont. Knowing that helps take off the pressure off getting it right all the time. For starters, health wise, you can control the foods and liquids you’re taking in along with the amount of activity you try to. fit in. We can’t always stop stressors from affecting our mood, but what we can control is how we respond and manage the stress. Sometimes that’s all we need to subside or deal with whatever may be going on. It can be so beneficial to our lives to take the time to get into a routine that will serve us. Meal prepping on Sundays to be ready for the week nutrition wise, planning at least 3-4 days a week that heart rate raising activity is NONNEGOTIABLE. Not only that but also remembering how important rest is and even though you may feels like you have a million things to do. Taking a deep breath and realizing that sacrificing your sleep is making you LESS productive because you’re LESS energized will help you tackle the day with higher spirits.

Doing the things that are important for your wellbeing isn’t always easy but it’s something that can make a huge shift in the quality of your life.
