Protecting and Cultivating Mental Energy

Your mental energy allows you to take on life as your best self, but it definitely gets out of whack from our day to day activities and interactions. Which is why it’s very important to protect it and cultivate it. Finding something that allows your mind to calm so you can rest from the constant need to be on is a great place to start! This activity should be something other than sleep. I say that because sleep is vital, however isn’t very optional or enjoyable in a conscious sense.

Therefore picking an activity like yoga, lettering, going on a walk, etc, will help you consciously unwind from the day’s/week’s chaos and focus on restoring YOU. It’s very beneficial to enjoy this activity alone because you want to be the one dictating when and how it gets done. This may be a part of restoring your energy, not having to depend on anyone but yourself for the moment.

While doing these activities remember to not be hard on yourself and keep the reason why you’re doing it in mind. The bigger picture is to rejuvenate in order to show up in life. Also, try not to compromise your activity for others. Meaning create strict boundaries around this activity that the people in your life will respect and honor. The more you protect your activity the more others will see the importance and support it.

To protect your mental energy, identify the people and things who drain you. Get very honest with yourself. You don’t need to have a whole conversation to said person or thing, but you can begin to distance yourself (if possible) and pay attention to your mental state. Are you feeling more energized? Less stressed? All signs that it was worth it. In the same regard, spend MORE time with those who pour into you. Do the things that make you feel good more often, and notice how your mood shifts for the better in reference to your life.

REMEMBER:

This is a daily/weekly practice, so be patient.

Be kind to yourself.

Know that you will get there.

Stay consistent.

Dedicated to you success,

TBS Team

How To Connect With Your Goals

We’ve all told ourselves we want to get something done health/fitness wise and dropped the ball or something came up that threw us off our game. That’s completely normal, and sometimes to be expected.
